梁有司議曰:「漢禮樂志云:『太祝迎神於廟門,奏嘉至,猶古降神之樂也。』宋孝建則奏肆夏,元徽則奏昭夏。魏晉無文。齊則因宋。按周禮:『尸出入則令奏肆夏,牲出入則令奏昭夏。』二者尸、牲所奏,本無迎送之義。郊特牲曰:『殷以樂降神,周以鬯降神。』殷尚質,據天而起,先聲樂乃灌地;周尚文,據地而生,先灌地乃擊樂。以殷而言,止施郊壇。清廟嚴閟,此唯靈宅,主安於龕,神若是依。既無出入,何事迎送?歌陽而迎,彌非降神之敬。儒者云,周祀,尸出入,奏肆夏;今無復尸,即以迎神。尸非神,神非尸,迴此迎神,失之已遠。宗廟則應省迎送樂。」武帝制曰:「禮云:『祭之日,樂與哀半。樂以迎來,哀以送往。』尚書有『高宗肜日』之文,詩著絲衣『繹賓尸』之作。故儒者說:『言今日之祭,明日又祭。殷曰肜,周以為繹。』肜繹之祭,在乎門傍,名以為祊,此豈不以神靈不測,於此庶或遇之?殷人求陽,周人求陰。今既絕灌地之禮,宜在求陽之義。尸非神,神非尸,今可得言主非神,神非主。以不若爾,主雖安於龕室,神則無所不之。送迎之樂彌會,陰陽不測之理。前儒之議,如似可安,今隨人所用。」
