40 喪:
古人所以祔於祖者,以有廟制昭穆相對,將來祧廟,則以新死者安於祖廟。所以設祔祭豫告,使死者知其將來安於此位;亦令其祖知是將來移上去,其孫來居此位。今不異廟,只共一堂排作一列,以西為上,則將來祧其高祖了,只趲得一位,死者當移在禰處。如此則只當祔禰,今祔於祖,全無義理。但古人本是祔於祖,今又難改他底,若卒改他底,將來後世或有重立廟制,則又著改也。神宗朝欲議立朝廷廟制,當時張虎則以為祧廟祔廟只移一位,陸農師則以為祔廟祧廟皆移一匝。如農師之說,則是世為昭穆不定,豈得如此?文王卻是穆,武王卻是昭。如曰「我穆考文王」,又曰「我昭考武王」。。」這十六國是文王之子,文王是穆,故其子曰「文之昭也」。「邘晉應韓,武之穆也」,這四國是武王之子,武王是昭,故其子曰「武之穆也」。則昭穆是萬世不可易,豈得如陸氏之說?陸氏禮象圖中多有杜撰處。不知當時廟制,後來如何不行?賀孫
