38  | 時王子侯多為近畿小郡，歷試有績，乃得出為邊州。帝以修識量宏達，自衛尉出鎮鐘離，徙為梁、秦二州刺史。在漢中七年，移風改俗，人號慈父。長史範洪冑有田一頃，將秋遇蝗，修躬至田所，深自咎責。功曹史瑯邪王廉勸修捕之，修曰：「此由刺史無德所致，捕之何補。」言卒，忽有飛鳥千群蔽日而至，瞬息之間，食蟲遂盡而去，莫知何鳥。適有臺使見之，具言於帝，璽書勞問，手詔曰：「犬牙不入，無以過也。」州人表請立碑頌德。嗣王範在盆城，頗有異論，武陵王大生疑防，流言噂誻。修深自分釋，求送質子，並請助防。武陵王乃遣從事中郎蕭固諮以當世之事，具觀修意。修泣涕為言忠臣孝子之節，王敬納之。故終修之時，不為不義。一夕，忽有狗據修所臥床而臥。修曰：「此其戎乎。」因大修城壘。 |
