1  | 平湖鮑生聲來有讀書之屋三楹額其前榮曰草庭而乞子記之予惟屈原作〈離騷〉嘗以香草喻君子如江蘺如薜芷如蒥𡗝如掲車如蕙𦶜如蘭如蘜之𩔖皆是也以惡草喻小人則如茅如薋如菉如葹如蕭艾如㝛莽是也而或謂蘭葢指令尹子蘭而言然則江蘺薜芷又何所指乎無論引物連𩔖立言本自有體不當直斥用事者之名且令尹素嫉原而讒諸王此小人之尤者也原顧欲滋之紉之佩之若與之最相親昵亦豈〈離騷〉本旨㦲予竊疑子蘭名氏乃後人縁騷辭附㑹者其說頗非是今鮑氏之庭所有者果香草乎抑惡草乎聲來從子游三年予觀其人篤信好古之君子也使遇惡草必非其臭味必將斬伐芟刈之不暇而奚暇借此以名其庭此其所託殆為蘭蘜蕙𮎼之𩔖可無疑也聲來讀書稍間盇亦考之《爾雅》以辨其名廣之《本草》以審其性時其榮落華實從而植援以扶之抱瓮以灌之開徑延賓客親故以翫之寫為圖畫發為歌咏以形容之乎審如是則庭之得是名也雖百世而後衆芳銷歇猶能與南陽之草廬成都之草堂並傳於好事夫豈騷人香草空言無事實者比與 |
