詩話明初舊典，宗室子不與內外銓除，後因御史李日宣等所請，援祖訓换授之，法言皇族宜通仕籍，得㫖允行。寕王孫子斗詩云：「爵人本至公，立法無頗偏，大訓手自訂，百度何森然，郡王有孫子，所司騐才賢，换授凖任用，升轉遵常銓。諒哉二柱史，抗章排拘攣，先帝展科目，今皇命試官椅桐，委斷壑被，以朱絲絃，●騮在外，厩䇿以珊瑚鞭，葢紀其事也。天啟辛酉，晉藩慶成溫穆王表，桐之曽孫慎䤰，始舉辛酉山西鄉試，明年壬戌，賜同進士出身，除中書科中書舍人，歴精膳主事。至崇禎戊辰，寧藩瑞昌王孫統鉓由進士改庶吉士，累官南國子祭酒。自後甲戌，則蜀藩奉●寧藩，統銍，銍謀㙔子也。丁丑，則寕藩統鐀統。●庚辰，則周藩朝㙓在●寕，藩綂鉟癸，未則代藩，鼎●廷壻，寧藩綂●議汴，皆以宗支取甲科而均焉，得授鎮江通判，其官戶部陜西司主事，曽召對平臺，奏請仍設漕運總兵，而思陵不允也。後賊既䧟秦，廷臣有撤寧逺守闗門之議，思陵心動，以問羣臣，吳太、常麟徴昌言撤之便，而輔臣陳演力持不可而止，使闗門有備，而漕運有兵，互相聲援，何至巨冦如入無人之境哉？然則均焉所對亦曲突徙薪之一策也均焉，詩多至數千首，率爾而成，不費持擇元夕詞結句，與白傅歌舞屏風花障上，幾時曽畫白頭人同一愾已」。
