7  | 有官話，通行一州之地，無奴婢，故無責打罵詈，亦無笞杖之刑。有犯鐐銬手足，閉置暗室，視輕重定期滿始釋，富者贖，重者竄荒地，役使開墾，死罪以繩吊頸斃之。大逆不道，則有器如鼓狀，內藏鋒刃，納人置於通衢，過者蹴使滾，此為極刑。凡傳召以竹竿，為符節，至即隨以行有深怨不解者，各請證人，至廣場，架鳥槍於肩，約藥力所及，背立，發火互擊，中不中皆息。凡病死，醫者不得其故，則剖其髒腑頭顱，考驗病之所在，著書示後，蓋以既死則無所惜，此歐羅巴各夷情之大略也。 |
