1 | 古昔聖主賢臣,所以孜孜講求,莫非平治天下之道。皆以救弊于一時,成法于萬世,外此豈有可觀者㦲?但世遷事變,時換勢殊,不得不因物立則,視宜創制。是以論說之言日浩,撰著之文月繁。簡樸常寡,浮誕漸勝。其綱之不能知,而况舉其目乎?此書之作,盖其以此也。先明道之所以立,而後知政之所行;先尋敎之所以設,而後得學之所歸。自典誥𣸧奥,訖史子辨博,諸係乎政術、存乎勸戒者,𦦙而不遺,罷朝而不厭其淆亂,閉室而不煩其尋究。誠亦次經之書也。我朝承和、貞觀之間,致重雍𥫄熈之盛者,未必不因講究此書之力,則凢君民、臣君者,非所可忽也。尾公有見于斯,使世子、命臣僚校正而上之木。又使𪜬信敬序之。惟信敬弱而不敏,如宜固辭者,而不敢者,抑亦有故也。《羣書治要》五十卷,五十卷內闕三卷,神祖遷駿府,得此書,惜其不全,命我逺祖羅山補之。三卷內一卷今不傳。今尾公此𦦙,上之欲君民者,執以致日新之美;下之欲臣君者,奉以賛金鏡之明。為天下國家,兾昇平之愈久,逺心曠度,有不可勝言者也。信敬預事,亦知逺祖所望信敬,是所以奉 命不敢辭也。 天明七年丁未四月, 朝散大夫國子祭酒林信敬謹序。 |
