51  | 五年，廣東賊李文茂圍潯州，犯武宣，署知縣朱爾輔以澛灘為北河要隘，自督兵屯守，乞濟師。崇光檄輔相統水師駐武宣之碧灘，與澛灘犄角。賊分水陸來撲，迎戰屢勝，艇賊何松亭率黨就撫。八月，文茂陷潯州，屢攻澛灘，擊退之。 |
| 52 | 六年二月，以餉絀撤澛灘防兵，賊麕至，糧盡援絕，勢岌岌。輔相連牒布政使乞餉，不報。復遺書桂林守李承恩，瀝陳四難四易，使聞於巡撫，有「力竭心殫，惟以一死報國」之語。未幾，兵士果以饑譁，賊黨潛結土匪內應，開城納賊。輔相督外委吳錦蘭等巷戰，格殺數十人，賊乘夜冒雨大至，署潯州營副將福格暨錦蘭皆死之。輔相受創被執，絕粒罵賊，仰藥死，賊棄尸於江。輔相才略足辦賊，時有旨調引見，而殉難事聞，賜恤如例。 |
