鄭康成說三皇五帝見所注尚書中𠊱敕省圖文據春秋緯運斗樞義也，僞孔《尚書》序疏載之，其以帝鴻金天高陽高辛陶唐有虞為五帝者，帝鴻卽黃帝，金天卽少昊，少昊卽青陽，黃帝子也，《史記》黃帝紀中帶敘青陽高陽顓頊也，高辛帝嚳也，合堯舜共六人，而云五帝者，以其皆德合五帝坐星者也。或以少昊統于黃帝、或以堯舜合德共為一帝，亦皆可，故知鄭與《史記》合。此等𮎰遠事姑存舊說，是非本難尋究，毋容過事推求。補本紀末復綴一條以為或說三皇乃天皇地皇人皇在太皞之前别有其人𮎰誕無稽宋元以來皆承用之幷于天皇地皇人皇之前增出盤古氏，吾不知之矣。辨詳《十七史商榷》鶴壽案：鄭康成為東漢大儒，惜其好以緯書解經，所謂三皇者，古有此繼天立極之三人，其號見于〈繫辭〉，鄭必從《春秋運斗樞》之文、以為女媧承宓羲，所謂五帝者不過值五德之運，鄭注《尚書中𠊱敕省圖》以為德合五帝，坐星者稱帝草昧初開而巳，婦人聽政古風質朴而巳。符命侈陳鄭學之不純于此可見。《史記·秦始皇紀》博士議曰：古有天皇地皇泰皇，泰皇者人皇也。此不過為上尊號而言，乃司馬貞取以附三皇紀後，幷誤信漆園叟之言綴以柏皇中央栗陸驪連諸氏，又誤信《春秋緯》之說綴以攝提合雒連通序命諸紀，不亦謬乎。若胡宏皇王大紀以盤古氏為始陳桱《通鑑續編》因之，更俚鄙不堪矣。
