不道禮憲以詩書為之譬之猶以指測河也以戈春黍也以錐湌壺也宋錢佃本湌作飡，元刻作飱。案《說文》𩚏，餔也，從夕、𠊊，思魂切。餐，吞也，從𠊊、𣦼聲或從水作湌，七安切。《玉篇》《廣韻》𩚏作飧、而飧、餐二字皆異音異義，古音餐屬寒部，飧屬魂部，故〈魏風·伐檀〉首章之餐與檀干漣廛貆為韻，三章之飧，與輪、𣾡、淪、困、鶉為韻，兩字判然同，自《爾雅釋文》始誤以餐為飧，而《集韻》遂合餐、飧為字矣。今俗書飧字作飧而錢本作飡自是道之俗字非魔字也盧從元刻作飱云魔同餐非是不可以𢔶之矣。念孫案：道者由也見〈禮器〉〈中庸〉注言作事不由禮法而以詩書為之則不可以𢔶之也故〈脩身篇〉曰由禮則治通不由禮則勃亂提優楊云道言說也失之又富國篇不足以持國安身宋呂本以下有為字乃涉文而衍盧本亦沿其誤今據宋錢本刪故明君不道也道亦由也言此事人之術不足以持國安身故明君不由也楊云明君不言亦失之。
