《載記第十四》
51  | 俄入為丞相、中書監、尚書令、太子太傅、司隸校尉，持節、常侍、將軍、侯如故。稍加都督中外諸軍事。猛表讓久之。堅曰：「卿昔螭蟠布衣，朕龍潛弱冠，屬世事紛紜，厲士之際，顛覆厥德。朕奇卿於暫見，擬卿為臥龍，卿亦異朕於一言，迴《考槃》之雅志，豈不精契神交，千載之會！雖傅巖入夢，姜公悟兆，今古一時，亦不殊也。自卿輔政，幾將二紀，內釐百揆，外蕩群凶，天下向定，彞倫始敘。朕且欲從容於上，望卿勞心於下，弘濟之務，非卿而誰！」遂不許。其後數年，復授司徒。猛復上疏曰：「臣聞乾象盈虛，惟后則之；位稱以才，官非則曠。鄭武翼周，仍世載詠；王叔昧寵，政替身亡，斯則成敗之殷監，為臣之炯戒。竊惟鼎宰崇重，參路太階，宜妙盡時賢，對揚休命。魏祖以文和為公，貽笑孫后；千秋一言致相，匈奴吲之。臣何庸狷，而應斯舉！不但取嗤鄰遠，實令為虜輕秦。昔東野窮馭，顏子知其將弊。陛下不復料度臣之才力，私懼敗亡是及。且上虧憲典，臣何顏處之！雖陛下私臣，其如天下何！願回日月之鑒，矜臣後悔，使上無過授之謗，臣蒙覆燾之恩。」堅竟不從。猛乃受命。軍國內外萬機之務，事無巨細，莫不歸之。 |
