《卷四十四·札子》
46  | 臣某近以懇誠上干天聽。伏蒙聖慈特降中使，賚賜詔書，仍斷來章。臣以樸愚，久逋明命，罪譴之及，所不敢辭。而陛下加惠寬矜，慰喻備至。仰荷天地厚恩，非臣殞越所能報稱。然臣之懇懇，亦累具聞。分義既所難受，臣亦何敢自已。竊惟人君之御臣，以其任隆而責重，故委之高爵重祿而無難；人臣自度其智力足以勝任而塞責，故受其高爵重祿而無愧。此上下所以兩得而能治安也。今臣既以疲𤻞退歸閭里，尚恃陛下眷存，謂其嘗預政事，有夙夜之微勤，故敢求以本官食宮觀之祿於外，已於理分為所非宜。而陛下乃疏誤恩，使兼將相之重。臣愚不肖，病不任事。顧於陛下勵精求治之時，不能自力以裨補萬一，而坐尸名器如此其厚；人臣之出力赴功，方任隆責重而有勛勞者，陛下將復何以處之？此臣所以不敢也。臣若茍貪，仰副訓敕而不知慮此，則非獨於臣私義無以自全，亦於國家大體所損非細。故復冒昧期於得請而後已。伏望陛下始終念察，早賜聽許，則非獨臣為幸。臣無任。 |
