10 | 洗之曰:「予謂貺義與錫同,將撰書者諱錫而假之乎?」然李濟翁《資暇集》曰:「惜借書籍,俗曰:惜一癡借二癡,索三癡還四癡。案《玉府新書》杜元凱遺子書曰:書勿借人。古人諺云:借書一嗤還書二嗤後更生。其詞至三四,因訛為癡也。《洞詮無古諺兩語,而尺牘清裁。載王樂道與穆四書云:出師頌絶妙古語,借書一瓻還書二瓻在,何遜上洞詮仍之,亦載。梁七卷末在王次道後,而注云《唐韻》古之借書盛酒瓶名瓻。楊用修《六書索隱》云,瓻借用鴟揚,雄《酒箴》所謂鴟夷也。《唐詩金錢百萬,酒千鴟嬰。考《聞見錄》曰:俗語借書與人為一癡,還書為一癡,常疑借書還書理也。何癡之云,後見王樂道與錢穆四書云云,乃知今人訛以瓻為癡也。按《說文》,瓻酒器,唐韻亦曰,瓻酒器。大者一石,小者五斗。古借書盛酒瓶,葢唐時所解已。然則作瓻者近是。但以瓶盛書,殊乖于義。尋孫愐意,當是謂借書時餉酒一瓻,還書時復餉酒一瓻,庶可通也。又段成式《廬陵宫下記》曰:今人云借書還書等為二癡㨿。杜荊州書告貺云:知汝頗欲念學,今因還車致副書,可按錄,受當别置一宅中,勿復以借人。古諺云有書借人為嗤,借人書送還為嗤也,則本作嗤字以瓻代,嗤後人之鑿也。洞詮有譌,此書差可相證。穆四不審,其人當是如中郎第五之類,或錢穆叔之譌乎?王樂道者王荊公有和其烘蝨詩》,《宋史》王陶字樂道,英宗太子詹事,神宗拜樞宻御史中丞,力攻韓琦,徙知陳州,正與穆叔同時。此宋代人洞詮系之于梁,豈梁有與同姓字者乎?梅氏考摭𢎞博,彈駁精核,此條似覺未確,宜更詳之陸書。 |
