10  | 洗之曰：「予謂貺義與錫同，將撰書者諱錫而假之乎？」然李濟翁《資暇集》曰：「惜借書籍，俗曰：惜一癡借二癡，索三癡還四癡。案《玉府新書》杜元凱遺子書曰：書勿借人。古人諺云：借書一嗤還書二嗤後更生。其詞至三四，因訛為癡也。《洞詮無古諺兩語，而尺牘清裁。載王樂道與穆四書云：出師頌絶妙古語，借書一瓻還書二瓻在，何遜上洞詮仍之，亦載。梁七卷末在王次道後，而注云《唐韻》古之借書盛酒瓶名瓻。楊用修《六書索隱》云，瓻借用鴟揚，雄《酒箴》所謂鴟夷也。《唐詩金錢百萬，酒千鴟嬰。考《聞見錄》曰：俗語借書與人為一癡，還書為一癡，常疑借書還書理也。何癡之云，後見王樂道與錢穆四書云云，乃知今人訛以瓻為癡也。按《說文》，瓻酒器，唐韻亦曰，瓻酒器。大者一石，小者五斗。古借書盛酒瓶，葢唐時所解已。然則作瓻者近是。但以瓶盛書，殊乖于義。尋孫愐意，當是謂借書時餉酒一瓻，還書時復餉酒一瓻，庶可通也。又段成式《廬陵宫下記》曰：今人云借書還書等為二癡㨿。杜荊州書告貺云：知汝頗欲念學，今因還車致副書，可按錄，受當别置一宅中，勿復以借人。古諺云有書借人為嗤，借人書送還為嗤也，則本作嗤字以瓻代，嗤後人之鑿也。洞詮有譌，此書差可相證。穆四不審，其人當是如中郎第五之類，或錢穆叔之譌乎？王樂道者王荊公有和其烘蝨詩》，《宋史》王陶字樂道，英宗太子詹事，神宗拜樞宻御史中丞，力攻韓琦，徙知陳州，正與穆叔同時。此宋代人洞詮系之于梁，豈梁有與同姓字者乎？梅氏考摭𢎞博，彈駁精核，此條似覺未確，宜更詳之陸書。 |
