張磻字渭老，羅源人。知臨江軍，鄰郡臨川有清江渡，產紙，部牒誤為清江縣，下郡，日抄會紙三萬。磻申省辨之，援坊州求杜若為比，得報罷。後鄰郡規避，趣辦如初。磻復申前請，得免。累官禮部侍郎，權兵部尚書，兼權吏部尚書。寶祐三年，拜端明殿學士，升同知樞密院事，兼參知政事。五年，拜參知政事，進封長樂郡公。致仕，卒，贈少師。初，史嵩之終喪，圖再相，磻率同列言之，詞甚切。由是，嵩之謀沮。磻以此直聲動天下。兄孫道。《閩書》參正德《府志》
