2  | 台灣孤懸海外，自古不入版圖，然實閩、粵兩省之屏障。明代為紅毛所據，故外無防禦。倭患蔓延後，鄭芝龍據之，亦負嵎猖獗。誠重地也。聖祖仁皇帝七德昭宣，削平鯨窟，命靖海侯施琅等俘鄭克慡而郡縣其地，設官置戍，屹為海上金城。徒以山箐叢深，百產豐溢，廣東及漳州、泉州之民爭趨其地。雖繁富日增，而奸宄亦因以竄跡。故自朱一桂以後，針蝟斧螳，偶或竊發，然旋亦撲滅。惟林爽文、莊大田等逆惡鴟張，凶徒蟻附，致稽槁街之誅。 |
