30 | 稱病西湖淨慈寺,聞南巡已至淮,揚從京口將趨行在,大學士楊一清固止之,會奉㫖兼巡撫江西,遂還南昌。忠等方挾宸濠搜求百出,肆為飛語,北軍或肆坐嫚罵,或故衝導起釁,先生一不為動,務待以禮。豫令市民移家於鄉,而以老羸應門。始欲犒賞北軍,泰等預禁之令勿受,乃傳示內外,諭北軍離家苦楚居民當敦主客禮,每出遇北軍喪,必停車問故,厚與之櫬,嗟歎乃去。久之,北軍咸服,㑹冬至節近,預令城市舉奠。時新經濠亂,哭亡酹酒者聲聞不絶,北軍無不思家泣下。先生與忠等語,不稍狥,已漸知畏,嘗與先生較射教場,先生勉應之,曰:「三發三中,北軍舉手嘖嘖」。忠等懼,乃班師還南都,讒先生必反,曰:「召必不至」。庚辰正月,有詔召先生至蕪湖,忠泰拒之,半月不得入。乃入九華山草庵宴坐,武宗遣人覘之曰:「王守仁,學道人也,召之即至,安得反乎?」乃命返江西。 |
